Maintenance Work Boot Initiative

Every role at Kittle Property Group serves a purpose and is important in helping us make progress towards our goals. However, our maintenance team has always had a special role as the face residents see all over the property, including in their own apartment home. Maintenance team members are the key to making a building feel like home to our 30,000+ residents.

And while this has never been an easy job, it has certainly become considerably more challenging due to the pandemic. Our maintenance team members continue to provide essential services- going into homes (now often with residents home), out to buy supplies and sometimes filling in when coworkers are quarantined. Their dedication to our residents and the company is incredible and absolutely critical to maintaining our resilience throughout the pandemic.

In recognition, we have started the BOOTS! Initiative for maintenance team members! We have partnered with SR Max as the Kittle Property Group approved slip resistant footwear provider. SR Max offers great slip resistant footwear solutions from their own SR Max brand line-up, to top brands like Timberland, Keen and many more. Many shoes feature their MaxTrax™ slip-resistant outsole – an industry leader in slip resistant technology.

Every September, maintenance team members receive $200 allowance to order boots from the SR Max website. New-Hires will receive the $200 allowance during onboarding. The $200 can be used however needed, including on more than one pair if desired. This allows team members living in northern climates to purchase a pair for summer and a pair for winter!

We are so excited to have provided 218 pairs of boots in this first year of the BOOTS! Initiative! Our maintenance team members were excited to receive and show off their new boots, and we heard from others around the company that they were thrilled to see these team members recognized and rewarded for their commitment. And that’s what we call win-win!
